How do I get help?

To get help right away, call 911

This number will connect you to the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) at the Wellesley Police Department. ECC is staffed by at least two Public Safety Dispatchers twenty-four hours a day. They will get you help within minutes.  You will need to clearly state that you need help and where you are located.  ECC will dispatch staff from the Wellesley Police and Fire Department, as well as an ambulance. They are trained to provide crisis services to depressed and suicidal individuals.

MetroWest Medical Center (Leonard Morse Hospital) in Natick: (508) 650-7380 An experienced team of clinicians in the Evaluation and Referral Service offers 24-hour phone consultation and intakes, as well as urgent or emergency mental health and substance abuse evaluations for individuals of all ages in both their Natick and Framingham Emergency Departments.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton: (617) 243-6000 
Ask the operator to connect you to the Psychiatry department. You will be connected to a trained mental health counselor.

To get help from Wellesley Public Schools during the school day, go to the guidance office and ask to see a counselor.  If you are not at school you can call the Guidance office to find someone to talk to.

If you call this number during school hours and say it is an emergency, you will be connected to a trained guidance counselor.

Ask the person who answers the phone for the counselor of the grade of the student you want to help. You will be connected to the grade level counselor.

Health Services are provided in every school. To get help from a school nurse during the school day, go the Nurse's office and let the nurse know you need help.  If you are not at school, you can call a school nurse.
